How fun is it to build your own speakers? And by ordering your custom sawn panels online, you also make things a lot easier for yourself.

Description by Martin

As a DIY fanatic on my 6th hi-fi speaker project, I share this information with you. This bass reflex design has a full range speaker and a tweeter and a bass port. Amplifiers in the back with a power of 100W.

How I made this project

Total dimensions: 90(h) x 25(w) x31.8(d) Built from MDF ( front plate 18 mm and 6 mm rounded), further 12 mm thickness. Only wood glue used. At the rear there is a compartment for the amplifier electronics. To sink the speakers and the plastic bass port into the front plate, I used a router to mill not only the holes but also the edges. The top of the electronics compartment continues to the front plate for strength (bracing with 4 holes 100mm). Naturally, they do not remain in bare MDF, but finishing follows. Filling, sanding, priming, sanding and black piano lacquer should give a sleek result.

Dimensions of my DIY project

90.0 cm height
25.0 cm width
31.8 cm depth
