Suzan's TV Cabinet

Suzan designed a floating TV cabinet for her living room. The cabinet is designed so that the TV fits perfectly into it. Next to the TV niche, there are two compartments with some doors, plenty of space to store all the receivers, amplifiers, or the old DVD collection! Making Furniture from MDF Nature

MDF Nature is the standard variant of MDF. It is used for the most diverse projects. Since nothing has been done to the sheet material, it still needs to be treated before use. This gives the material a smooth finish and also protects it from moisture and dirt. Unfinished MDF is very sensitive to moisture, so it cannot be used in damp areas. If that was the plan for your furniture, you can choose MDF Moisture Resistant V313.

Treating MDF

MDF Nature needs to be properly treated before you use it. But how do you do that? There are three things you can do: priming, sealing, and painting. First, it's important to properly prime the MDF. This gives the MDF a protective layer that shields the material from moisture penetration. This primer also ensures that the final finish layer can be applied much more smoothly to the MDF. While you're priming, you can also seal the edges. The edges of MDF have a strong absorbent effect and are therefore particularly sensitive to moisture. The treatment can be done with an edge sealer. Finally, you can paint the material. You can do this entirely to your taste. Suzan, for example, painted her cabinet black.
